In partnership with Scottish Government and Michelin, EPRC co-organised a COP26 side event on 2 November 2021 on industrial transformation and net zero.
The ‘Transforming Industrial Clusters and Sites to a Net Zero Future’ event discussed international industry and government perspectives on the themes to be explored by the Net Zero Industrial Cluster Exchange.
The event was opened by Kate Forbes (Scottish Cabinet Secretary for Finance & Economy) and Florent Menegaux (CEO, Michelin) who spoke about how, working in partnership, government and industry can support industrial transformation for net zero.
Presentations and discussions drew on the transformation of the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc in Dundee, which is creating a centre for innovation in sustainable mobility. Similar work by Michelin in Bamberg focused on cleantech and international examples from different sectors in Finland, Germany and Norway, showcasing transformation in practice, was also highlighted.
