The sixth and last EPRC webinar of Spring 2022 was held June 29th (11:00 – 12:00 UK) over Zoom. Dr Jaroslav Koutský – Associate Professor at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University, Czechia – presented on the topic “EU Cohesion Policy in the Czech Republic”.
Koutský’s webinar provided a general overview of Cohesion Policy implementation history in the Czech Republic, from the accession to the EU to the present day. The presentation offered an evaluation and critical perspective of the topic, for which the speaker argued that broader academic elaboration is not frequent. Selected statistics and the data on the policy implementation were presented, and discussion focused on the thematic focus and the regional distribution of resource allocation.
The presentation was complemented with subjective academic evaluation and partially subjective remarks discussing the policy value, the benefits’ evaluation and the policy perception by regional development key actors.
