The overall objective of the work is to firstly, present a comprehensive picture of the existing level of engagement of citizens and civil society in Interreg programmes (mapping exercise); secondly, identify factors that encourage the involvement of citizens and civil society in Interreg programmes; and finally, come up with feasible approaches (methods and tools) to make Interreg programmes more enabling for citizens and civil society.
