Low-carbon SME development and transition

The Interreg Europe COMMIT project (2024-2028) addresses the challenges faced by regions transitioning their SME base to low-carbon activities. Focused on avoiding ‘carbon leakage,’ ensuring job quality, and minimising territorial inequalities, COMMIT strives to support local and regional authorities in developing an SME support ecosystem for the industrial transition.

COMMIT will focus on four interrelated areas where the mechanisms for SME access need to be improved: information/knowledge, innovation/technology, finance, and skills. Through identifying, analysing and disseminating good practices, the project will support the development of place-based strategies, instruments, facilities and governance arrangements that can deliver integrated and coherent support for low-carbon entrepreneurship and SME development, while giving particular attention to microenterprises and entrepreneurship among underrepresented groups.

EPRC Delft is the Advisory Partner of the COMMIT consortium. The project is led by KSSENA, the Energy Agency of Savinjska, Sleska and Koroska region (Slovenia), and includes 14 other partners from 8 European countries.
